Hello friends! I hope you’ve had a nice week and are excited about the upcoming holidays. With each season, I strive to find simple ways to create new memories with my family. It could be an evening walk in a park, a fun outing, a road trip or a “special” night in. Today, I want to share a last-minute dinner I set up for my family in honor of the few warm fall days we had here in the Twin Cities. For as long as I can remember, I have loved entertaining and setting the table is one of the things I truly enjoy and look forward to. For this evening, the table decor features a beautifully striped tablecloth, champagne colored glass chargers, white dinner and salad plates with solid colored napkins for elegance and texture.
Without further ado, welcome to a candlelight dinner in the garden.
I created this effortless and affordable centerpiece by using grocery store flowers, fake white pumpkins that I already had on hand and lots of candles. I started with a rose gold tray I’ve had for years and used it as a vase for my main centerpiece. I placed the pumpkins inside the tray and weaved in the flowers as I saw fit.
I flanked the main centerpiece with small roses arrangements and added several candlesticks. The eggplant hue of the calla lilies and mini pumpkins compliments the rose gold color of the tray beautifully while injecting a pop of color to the white pumpkins and roses.
This dinner represents everything I love about fall: the glow of candlelight or fire, fuzzy blankets and a good conversation with friends and family. I shared a bit more about this in my fall home tour here.
No matter how excited you get when using new items, in my case these beautiful chairs, remember to cut the tags off, unlike me. Oops.
I believe creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in your home doesn’t have to take a lot of time or money. My go-to item to create a simple and beautiful tablescape is candles. They help set the mood, create ambiance and are inexpensive.
After dinner, we retreated to our fire pit area and spent the evening talking about our day, the best part of the summer and what we look forward to this holiday season.
It is these moments that I look forward to the most.
The ones that truly matter.
I hope to have inspired you to throw a candlelight dinner for your family and friends or explore new ways to create memories this season. As usual, thank you for stopping by and check back in for more inspiration for your home.
